can someone help???
i just got my car started after all this time since having a baby just got time to work on it. anyway got my car started 67 mustang with a 351 windsor in it. noticced a few problems.
one my turn signals dont work and when i use them the brake lights go out. what could cause this?
two the car does not want to shift. in first its fine but it does not seem to want to get out of first unless i start in second and then put it in drive after it is ready to shift to third. but wont go from first to second by itself. what causes this?
third i noticed a weird howiling noise coming from the starter area when starting. this is what i changed out to make it start it was going bad so wasnt working right. also timing and the firning order was off.( so much for following books). Is this starter to big for the motor? is that why its howling?
hope you guys can help.
oh yea and my voltage regulator in the dash seems to keep killing it self i just replaced it with a brand new one and then i heard a pop and it was dead. could a short be causing this?[/align]

You probably have a short somewhere. Trace the wiring from the rear to the turn signal.

Try adjusting the bands and make sure the fluid level is full.

Your Bendix spring may be going south, or the gears are chewed up. Double check to make sure the two bolts that hold the starter in are tight.
hope you guys can help.
