Default Restoration - Lost in Time

I just realized that my car has been in the shop twice as long as I've owned it. By the time I get it back it will probably be6 or7 monthsto rebuild!

I was wonder how long poeple are willing to give up driving their vintage Mustangs in order to restore them.

I have "restored" my car a few times. The longest it was off the road was a little over a year.

Don't feel too bad. I've had my 66 for a year now and so far the only thing I've managed to do is build a garage around it. Hope to get it running again sometime in the next year or two.

I have been constantly restoring mine for over 11 years now. You never get it all perfectly restored as long as you use it for a daily driver. If you never drive it, as in your case, you ought to be finished with it when Christ comes to retrieve all his believers.

I have you all beat. Six months after I bought mine it went to the body shop for two and a have years for the body and paint and the odd part pre fit. Then another six months of rebuilding/ fitting new parts. Drove for three months and pulled motor again and now building new motor.....So I've hade the car 3 1/2 years and have just under 100 miles on it[sm=boohoo.gif]

I have you all beat.. lol.. I started the Cougar's paint job in June 1986, it sat in the shop with a light coat of primer untill June 2006. I have built 5 other cars in the meantime, either to daily drive or race. I turned 16 in 85, and that summer the trans went out in the Cougar. I have driven it maybe 4000 miles since I bought it at age 14. Actually it is probably way less than that, but I have no way of knowing for sure.

If the firewood can heat the shop enough to do the bodywork and paint, it will see double that this summer alone. It will be my cruiser, the car I take to go somewhere other than shopping. No way in hell will I let some 340lb soccer mom bash her minivan door into the car I just straightened out. The thought of some kid or jealous jerk vandalising it makes me want to get a concealed carry permit. The car has been abused enough, its time it was enjoyed. 20 years is a long time to languish and not be driven.

Somehow some way I will get it done and drive it again. Anyone wanna send a cash donation? If not bring me a full chord of firewood, dry hardwood please with no bugs..

I WANT MY CAR BACK!

Wow! I guess I can't complain about 6 six months of restoration. With spring approaching... I want my car back!
