Default Rear end setup for a 67

Ok guys help me out here. Im trying to find out about the rear end of a 67. I want to ditch the leaf spring setup and go with some type of a link setup with coilovers andfrom QA1. The only one that I can find prefabbed is the one from air ride. I already have an air ride equiped vehicle and dont want that trouble on this car.

Can you guys supply me with some pics of 67 stangs with different types of link systems? I would really appreicate it.

My 67 has a 9" posi. I just replaced the old rubber bushings with polygraphite ones. What are your reasons for wanting a 4,3 link setup? Seems like a lot of expense unless you are going to race it. There are add-ons and mods out there that will help with axle wrap or other common problems.

Wow those are some serious link systems there man. Thanks for those links, but those are expensive. I airbagged my whole truck for half that. I know I know 'Cheap Fast Good Pick any two" but damn. 5 grand for alink setup. Ill end up building my own before I pay that.

So getting away from that are there any kits out there that can dramatically enhance the suspension quality of the leaf spring setup. I want to get really close to 1g on the skid pad if not go over that. The two things that mean most there is suspension and driver. While I most likely dont possess the skill to drive it to that limit, I would like the car to be able to handle more than I can throw at it.

Personally I think leaf springs are fine, as long as you block the passenger side. I don't know what kind of rear end you have but a currie nine will get the job done.

Are you just looking to get rid of the leafs or are you looking to change out the whole rear?

Go to Heidt's.com and look at their 4-link, bolt-in rear suspension. With axle housing it is $1150.00...including adjustable coil-overs. You have to use th frame connectors which runs about $250.00 but you also get a drive shacft saftey loop and it BOLTS-IN so you can do all the grunt work yourself and then have if welded for even more strenth. Also check-out stang-aholics.com for pictures of an installed system. Pretty neat.
