Default Transmission removal help please.

Ok so I've got the crossmember, the mount and the four bolts on the bellhousing out. How do I get the transmission to come out? Is there anything I'm missing. Just want to make sure that I ask before I try to get it out and mess something up. Oh and it's a Ford Toploader tranny. Thanks guys.

Make sure you disconnect the bolts from the tranny hump on the inside of the car. I think the linkage should be alright with a standard tranny.

Shift Linkage, all the arms that go to the shift assembly thats mounted on the side of the tranny. And the Rod and Return spring to engage and disengage the clutch. thats little easy visible stuff though.

I do not follow what bolts you are talking about inside the car. Sorry to be a pain.

They are either screws or bolts that hold the inside flange to the floor boards around the shifter.

Yeah I don't think I have that stuff. It's actually got a hurst shifter that just goes through the floor and has a big boot. I removed the boot and there is nothing holding the shifter inside the car. Do I need to support the engine while i remove the tranny? My haynes book says to that's why I ask.

and for some reason, I cannot pull out the speedo cable. Not sure why but it looks like i should have enough slack to drop it and try again once it's down on the ground. atleast i hope so.

Flywheel (flexplate) bolts. Ye olde tranny won't budge without the removal of these four rascals. remove the flywheel dust cover and rotate the flywheel to get to each bolt.
