Looking For Side Exhaust!??!
I am looking for a side exhaust kit for my 66 Mustang coupe with a 289. The type I had in mind was a single in single out muffler with the connections on the same side. I am also looking for a flat-squared or oval type chrome or stainless tip for this. PLEASE HELP!
here is how i did mine...

I actually did mine about 5 years ago - one of the first on a vintage Mustang.
Mufflers are Dynomax 17676 - $50 at Summit!
Tips are from Spintech (they also make this setup as a kit now).

theres this one http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...xhaust-kit.htm or http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...st/evo-ext.htm or any good exhaust shop can make you the same thing
I wonder if you would want to run a slightly larger pipe due to all the twists and turns with that sidepipe setup?? It seems like turning the air that many times would cause a little more back pressure... Just a thought....
2.5" is fine for any 289/302... You ought to seee the bend/angles inside most conventional mufflers, plus the 180* bend your tailpipe makes over the axle. These mufflers actually have one 180 smooth bend instead of chambers...
Steeda actually tested the sideexit setup vs Flowmasters & tailpipes - sideexit actually had a few more hp.
