is it possible to fix a crack in the cylinder wall?

Yes, and here is how you do it. The best method is Flame Spray welding.

That is a very interesting article. But, if you have a common 289 or 302 why not replace the block? I can understand if it were a Mexican or Boss block. Just my .02 cents.

Yeah, Valley is right. It would probably cost you more to repair than to replace an ordinary block.

you can just get that cylinder sleeved. you'll be needing to deck the block (which all of you should be doing anyways and alot of people dont) and get it bored obviously

I smell a rebuild! time for more power. I would get another block. Or go with a crate motor.

actually a sleeved cylinder is stronger

yup stronger they be. i wouldnt like it if i had to sleeve two holes next to each other, but other than that if they are done properly you mayt not even see that there is a sleeve installed.

we put 8 sleeves in a boss 302 block, i wanted to cry when they were doing it. soooooooo much machine work done to that motor just to have it grenade. i was heartbroken
