Default Which way does this mount?

Trying to install this oil cooler sandwich plate - which side sits against the motor and which side does the oil filter attach to? Also, is there supposed to be a gasket where the lip is?

I believe that the side in the 1st pic goes against the engine with an oring seal similar to the one on your oil filter. Where is the threaded post that goes thru the center for the oil filter to screw on to? Just an observation.

Here is the threaded center piece, looks like it can go in either way...

ok great - so just pull the o-ring off the next oil filter and shove it in the groove? and the new oil filter will not need an o-ring against the plate?

thanks for the help

you will still need a oring on the new filter you can get orings to fit the adapter just take it in and go thru the selection etc i wouldnt use an old one after its been used but u could get away with it more than likely or just buy a cheap filter and pirate it

Just use an oring off of an oil filter to seal the adapter to the engine. The put a new oil filter WITH an oring onto the adapter. When you put the oring on the adapter it should look just like the oil filter where it seals up to the engine. You will need an oring on the oil filter to seal it to the adapter. You will probably have to buy two oil filters to get this accomplished or if you are trying to go cheap you could use the oring off of an old filter, but I wouldn't! You're only talking about five or six bucks.
