ORIGINAL: gothand

Without seeing it in person to see where those lines go, your tach should plug into those wires in your pic between the white and red arrows. The pink should plug into your black wire on the rally pac and the red wire from the ralley pac should plug into the red one with green stripe. The blue one is for the light and you should be good to go.

Oh yeah, this is assuming you're not running an MSD type ignition. If so, you'll need a tach adaptor and you'll wire the tach into that.

Good luck.
Thanks gothand, you were right on the money. Part of my problem was the pink wire looked brown with 40 years of dust that had accumulated on it, and I wasn't looking for the red w/ green stripe to already be connected to the pink wire. Also, the new tach is an original 8000k rpm tack right out of the box (i paid a king's ransom for it on ebay. not sure why) and I didnt want to fry it. Any way it was just like you suggested. Hey, you're right on to make sure things are just right before potentially frying anything. For that reason, I didn't want to guarantee anything as being the way to do it in case something went wrong. I figured it'd be a pretty safe bet, however, since your tach had the same plug ends and wire colors as the factory original.

I hear ya' on the wire colors being deceptive after all these years. I usually rub the wire with a little rag and hand cleaner (non-pumous) and it cleans right up. Glad it worked!
