I have a problem,I thought the vin tag that is in the windshield would be on the dashboard of my '69 Mustang,I got the dash Monday from the guy I bought the car from and it wasn't on there or in the windshield,(there are two hole where it should be),the vin number is stamped on the passenger fender skirt and it does match the number on the clear NJ title I have ,the car is a 428scj drag pack car,but without the vin tag I don't want to put a lot of money into it not knowing if the car will be worth anything .I do have a deluxe Marti Report,there isn't a door tag but I will be getting one when the Elite Marti Report arrives,If you have any ideas it would be helpful,or know where I can get a vin tag,thanks,Sal

 

1969 models were the last year that Ford also attached a metal tag on the driver side door. There should be a tag that has all the info regarding the autneticity of your vehicle. Also the dash pad does not have the VIN attached to it. There is a notch that allows veiwing of the VIN plate that is attached to the dash frame. I would be skeptical if I had a car that was missing this VIN. Especially if it was being passed off as a rare high dollar model (drag pack). The fender buck tag can come off of any fender apron. Check the door to see if the metal ID plate is there. Of course like fenders, doors can be changed as well. I don't have a wrm and fuzzy feeling about this one.Hopefully I'm wrong. Good luck.

is the bucktag still in the engine bay? if that isnt there and the window vin ist there either and the shocktower vin didnt match up, i would be very skeptical, what is the shock tower vin? i thought that was the vin they title the car too

 

vin numbers can only be giving out from the car company or the dmv no one else
