Kwiklift
well today me and my dad went to the autorama show here in dallas, and while there we say the kwiklift vendor with a nice blown 67 convert sitting on top
well we got to talking to the guy and we may as well buy one. we dont have enough room for a full lift but we do have enough room for this and it is moveable and it will be tons easier to work underneath
my question is has anybody used them before?

my neighbor has one and it works great. It raises the car so there is about 3 1/2 to 4ft. of space between the car and the ground. it sure does make changing oil and tinkering under the car a lot easier. It's a nice medium if you can't afford a 4-post lift, but you also don't wanna break your ***** flopping around on the ground with a creeper.
I say go for it...it would be money well spent.

Every lift has draw backs. It sounds like you had what would work for you fighured out. I have the four post lift. Mainly for car storage. I can do some things on my vehicles with this style lift, however it is not able to allow tire/brake service without the added expense of jack systems. I have a jack tray that allows me to use hydraulic bottle jacks to raise the car in order to work on the wheels. But it takes more time to arrange that set up then it does to perform the work. I kick around the idea of buying the same lift you did in order to perform routine tire , brake and oil maintenance. I can change the oil on my F150 and Escape while just lying on the floor. The two Mustangs are to low for that. So currently I have to swap vehicles on the lift whenever I need to change the oil. Besides, it would be cool to have the Kwik lift next to the other one. LOL
I think most everyone would prefer a 4-post if they 1) had the room and 2) could afford it. How much did you drop on your 4-post?
Also, atom, I forgot to mention, a really cool feature about the kwiklift (at least my neighbors anyways) is that it has locking dollys under its 4 legs, which means even with the car up on the lift, you can move the thing around without much effort. Makes for an easy cleanup, or easy relocation...somethinfg a 4post cant do...

The quick lift sounds nice but if you can swing it, I would just get a 4 post lift. I have the Backyard Buddy 4 post and love it. i have had it for 4 years now and never had any problems.

we use this kind of lift alot in the body shop, good for working on lower portion of cars, you dont get tired of bending over and all that, the drawback of these kinds of lifts is that you cant do much eninge work on it, not exhaust and tranny work, very limited suspension work can also be done on this. but it is a nice unit if you can get it cheap enough. ours at the shop is a 110V so it works pretty much any where. i would like to have one!
