Default Sure grip differential on an open 8"

Hello,

I would like to add some more grip to the my 8" rear axle, on my '70 mustang 302, but I'm a bit confused. What is the difference between detroit locker, positraction, true lock, air lock, etc.... The car will be mainly driven on the street. Is thereplacement a hassle free job. I've been told I've just to remove the open gear case and install the new differential on the ring gear in lieu of the old spider gears, is that true ?
Thanks for your help.

You can install an ez-locker which replaces the spider gears without having to re-set up the gears. If you change the carrier you may have to re-set the backlash.

Gears, lockers/posis are expensive to just pony up the bucks and have them done by a pro IMO.
