Default HELP!!!!!!

I NEED HELP!!! Just did my brakes and changed my oil so i decided to take a spin around the neighborhood. The brakes worked great and i was able to make it around three times but on the third trip something really bad happened. I was about a block away from my house and i sprung a HUGE oil leak. there is about a 6" wide trail of oil leading all of the way to my house. its terrible, itwas coming out of the drivers side of the engine...i have no idea what i could be and i really need your help.

Check your Oil Filter. You may have the seal from the old filter stuck to your block.

you should check the oil filter. Is it a FRAM by chance. I've had 3 frams blow completely off the thread before, which causes a pretty healthy dump of oil.

It is either the oil filter or the plug. Remove the filter and make sure that when you put it on that you do not cross thread it. and that there is a rubber seal/gasket in the top of the filter. My guess is that either the plug backed out or the filter backed off since it occured at the end of your shake-down cruise.

In any event, I doubt it is anything Earth-shattering. Double check the stupid stuff.

yes it is a fram lol...i just checked it out more closely and sportystang66 was right. the gasket to my old filter was stuck to the block which is no good. i feel better now knowing that its just me being stupid and nothing major that went wrong with my baby. thank you and i appreciate all of the quick responses. i might get in trouble with the HOA tho...there is a trail of oil leadingall the way to my house so i cant reallydeny that it was my car lol. oh and i found out that my oil light works which i guess is good. even though it didnt go on until i was already in the garage [&:]
