Default frame spec for 70

hey guys ,I am in the process of restoring my 70 fastback and have decided to put frame connectors on the car .Since i am not the original owner and i know the car has been wrecked at least once I was wondering if anyone knew the original frame measurments so i can take it to the frame shop. The guy i talked to said he can do it without the measurementsbut it would bea lot better to have the original measurements. His books dont go back but to 74 or 75.
Thanks for any info
Jeff

did you ask him how he is gonna measure it, is he gonna do a wheelbase, and "x" measurement? there are ways even without frame specs to make sure that points on the car are even as they need to be. we do alot of measureing on older cars (sometimes even on rolling chasis) we have a dedicated machine that is level and symetrical to measure rails both horizontal and vertical. and then we check the alignment and use a toe bar to frnt and rear of the vehilce to see what is going on and that should get you really close to being where you need to be. sometimes people that have been doing this for 30+ years have a better idea then newbie's with printed out sheet

yeah this guy has been doing this for 30 + years too although he is a pontiac man himself,He had just mentioned that he would like the specs ,he said he could do it without them but he always likes to know what the original specs were.

I can send you a copy of the drawings for the 1970 Mustang Body dimensions via email. I'll need your real email address because the email system in this forum doesn't have the option for attachments.(Well not a user friendly one anyway)I pulled the drawings right from an actual 1970 Ford Service manual (Volume 4 in a series). You can find these manuals on ebay for almost nothing. If this fails I'll mail them to you. I'm good for a .39 stamp.

I need you to send me an email direct. Don't go through the forum system. It sends notification through them and does not provide a return address.
My email address is in my profile. It is mckellu@msn.com . Send me an email through that address and then I will send you the drawing.
