Default 1965 289 ford mustang

Ok ... im looking at a 1965 289 ford mustang... there is nothing really wrong with it .. it has a rebuilt 289 engine ... rebuilt 4 speed manual trans... everything is good except it has a deep 4 inch scratch on the drivers door, like they had maybe opened it up into something... and it has no radio... he is asking 7900$ for it...

Good deal or Bad deal?
or a steal?

whats are ya'lls opinions? oh and it is a dark royal blue

im just not really into the classics..
Then why get one?

The main thing to consider is rust, check the undercarriage, under the carpet of both the interior and trunk, rust is your main enemy when buying a seemingly perfectly-looking classic.

Oh, and how does the car sit?

If it sags, meaning, the back tires sink in, and the front tires float up, you'd be in serious need of a new suspension and leaf springs.

Does it have power steering or not, drum or power brakes?

Sounds like a very good price if the ride is decent.

Paid 7,500 for this 65 and it had a auto C4 at the time. It sounds like a fair price assuming everything else (rust)checks out ok.

That's about right for a clean A code.

I'll sell mine to you for less than that and it has Koni, Quickor, Global-West, Traction-Master, export/monti-carlo, Crane, Erson, Disc, 1996 world class T-5, Center-Force clutch, three-row radiator and Flex-a-Lite 10,000 rpm stainless fan, Shelby center dash tach/oil pressure, Personal leather 4-spoke wheel with Stewart-Warner guages in a gt panel. I replaced all the windshield trim, door handles, bumpers, sheet metal forward of the windshield, tail-lights, rear harness and windshield with all FMC parts that I bought from Woody Bilton Ford between 1980/1985. We did a ground-up on it in 85/86. We put the GT stuff on it but it's not a 'real' GT...can't be since it came off the line in October 1964. I have the pictures.
It's showing some wear after 21 years but I don't think you'll find a better deal. I know the history on the car back to the orinigal owner and it has never been in a wreck.
Let me know.
