i know i just wanna drive the thing
I hear ya!!!!!! Cut the end off, shove the hose back on if it'll reach, fill and bleed the system, get back in that pony and go (even if just to the parts store for more hose)!

(Or, pull the belt off the pulley and have manual steering the hard way until you can fix it)(I have sooooooo been there!)

I'm actually kicking the power steering setup to the curb and going to manual... I have never liked the numb Mustang power steering feeling. The car was originally manual steering so I'm actually going back to stock.

Turn the wheel from lock to lock several times until you don't see any more air bubbles in the pump. Put the vehicle on jackstands so it is easier to turn the wheel. Turn it back and forth several times until you don't see any more bubbles. Fire it up and turn the wheel. If the pump makes noise, quickly turn it off and do it again.

You should try bleeding a Jeep with a power steering cooler, hyroboost brakes, large 808 gear box and remote reservoir. Good times.

Just checked the factory sercvice manual and the Chilton's and they say to do it with the engine on and it should take 3 to 4 turns back and forth. Hmmm, I know that doing it in my Jeep it can take 20 or more turns and you don't have the engine running because itcan aerate the fluid doing it that way, but I guess it must be okay for this system. My Jeep hasa large 808 steering gear, power steering cooler, remote reservoir and a hydroboost for the brakes so it is a bit more involved. [8D]

So, there you have it. At least with the engine running, you won't have to take the tires off of the ground to make it easier to turn.
