yup, 19cc dish is exactly what you want. ditch the intake you have now and grab a edelbrock performer rpm airgap at the very least, or really go nuts and throw a victor jr on there. PORT MATCH the intake runners to your heads, because you have larger intake ports and it would be a shame to not let everything flow the way it should. deck the block, and make sure the machine shop balances everything using YOUR flywheel and balancer.

for a carb, i'd prolly put a 750 on there, vacuum secondaries for street driving or a double pumper for the track - but definately a holley or a barry grant. if you havent gotten your ignition yet go pickup a crane fireball you'll be happier than having a msd 6al (i know this from personal experience)

"Their built-in rev limiter automatically drops cylinders in firing order to prevent fuel loading, and is adjustable from 3,100-9,900 rpm in 100-rpm increments, without any chips."

I'm running a 10.1 compression with dished pistons and it runs great on premium octane pump gas. I have Eagle crank and rods with JE pistons. And77stang is right... this motor will be NASTY!!!! [sm=burnout.gif]

what type of carb would be good to run on this setup
I like Holley double-pumpers. My rule-of-thumb for carb size has always been to double the cid and add 50.300 cid=650 cfm carb. 350 cid=750 cfm carb. The 850 mcfm d-p was built as a direct replacement carb for the 427-425 hp rectangular port Chevy. I thinkit's far too big for anyting under 390 cid and 7000 rpm.If you have the line big enough and an electric pump out back with a pressure regulator at the carb you will never run out of gas at 4500 like a friend who runs the stock FI pump and a 650 cfm bp Holley does with his F-F Cobra kit car.
