Default Primer Questions

Well I just bought a 69 Grande' and Plan on rebuilding pretty much the whole car. However I dont own a spraygun or compressor and plan on using aresol can primers. I just want to know which would be the best brands to go with for body primer. I think I will get some POR-15 or rust bullet for the interior, under the hood, and pretty much anything thats not outside body panel.

Let me know what you all think, and if you have used POR-15 or Rust Bullet rust inhibitors..

Thanks..

Default RE: Primer Questions

you need to read the thread about cheap paint... If you dont want to spend a fortune, and you dont have the equipment, this is much prefered over the rattle can primer. take it from someone who has painted cars with rattle cans... this is better.. the primer that comes in a rattle can sucks. the only rattle can paint I have found that actually stays for a while is rustoleum yellow. the black, blue, red, and gold all fade pretty bad. Yellow still looks good.. go figure.

Anyway, look into this. there is a thread here about it as well with a few of us trying it. Just search for threads started by me and look for cheap paint..

http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html that will get you started.. it wont be a show car, but it wont look like a fugly mess either..
