Default Convertible top

Does anyone have any experiance with replacing the top on a convertible. I'm restoring a 68 convertible. The frame is ok just needs to be cleaned up and painted. I need to replace the tack strip and put on the new top. The question is should I try to tackle this myself or farm out the work. I would like to do it myself but I don't know anything about it. Do you guys have any ideas or places that I can look for info. The Convertible forum in the gen tech section is a waste. I need tech info on how to proceed.

Thanks.

Joe
