well what the others said can help u lol but i mean the only i could say is put on sum bald tires and u'll have A set slicks lol hey more grip and better launch but i mean u'll get money i mean the only thing that would be cheap is get a k n filter but if u want major horspower carb intake and cams should do the job if u add heads u'll be making a mid 300 hp car!! another thing about the heads is every one is putting 351w or cleveland heads on the 289s and 302's also a flex a lite would help u out alot there very affordable

Headers & free flowing exhaust system, intake manifold, change the axle ratio, increase your initial timing.

2V Cleveland heads will but they are getting harder to find.
It is cheaper, and quicker to redo the exhaust, and intake manifold and a good 600-650 carb. A cam if you have the money and time.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend. A 4v carb, aluminum intake, either JBL shorty headers, or Tri-Y headers, X pipe and a mild cam, either MSD or Pertronix ignition with a flame thrower coil, will surprise you in the amount of HP you will add without getting into the real bucks of adding flat top pistons and a blower.
