This question is simple and straight forward. I am in the middle of my AOD swap right now. I am switching from a C-4 to an AOD, DO I need a new Yoke? Some articles I have been reading say yes and then some say no. Anyone know?
no need for a new yoke but an aod is about i" longer so u need to have the shaft shortened or i believe that there are some aftermarket yokes that reduce the length of the shaft using off set u joints?
Great guys thanks, it saves me some more money which is always good. How much did it cost ya'll (ballpark) to shorten your drive shafts the inch that is required?
i didnt i got a toploader maybe but i believe a yoke is around 100$ and id think that shortning the shaft would run about the same look up drive shaft and propellers in the phone book
I had my drive shaft shortened at a machine shop in Houston when I put the Kit together, and it was fairly inexpensive, plus they re-balanced it which was nice.
