rack and pinion
I am going to add rack and pinion to my 64.5 manual steering and I would like your to know where is the best place to purchase the kit. I saw in Mustang Times a parts company in TX called SpeedDirect, What do you think?

Just to compare prices, here is another one for right at the same price. http://www.carsteering.com/addtocart...artnumber~.asp
I put the Flaming River rack and pinion setup with the tilt steering column in my fastback and it is AWESOME!!
The rack cradle lined up perfectly, no cutting, no welding. Just bolt it in the factory holes.
The only problem I had was with my headers. I bought mine from NPD and their ad said it could be used with headers. Well, I had headers so I took them at their word and bought the setup. Come to find out, it worked with "shorty" headers, so I bought a set of shorty headers, still no luck.
So I called flaming river directly and spoke with the president of the company and he informed me that it was designed to work with the JBA shorty headers. Well, at more than 600.00 I damn near passed out, but I bit the bullet and bought the JBA's and everything indeed worked perfectly. The JBA's have an incredible sound so all things totaled, I couldn't be happier.
Once you have the rack in, you will be throwing rocks at the old steering setup.

I saw a manual rack pignon conversion kit on one year for 679 plus shipping http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=E
This obvioulsy is not PS and does not include any new steering column - but would like to get some feedback and opinions on that set vs others ...
