Default EFI throttle control

I'm converting my '66 I6 to a FI 5.0 and I was looking at the differences between the throttle control. Can I keep my stock throttle controlor do I have to convert it to either a stock V8 throttle controlor a fox body system?

You will have to change to a throttle cable. I used the pedal and cable that Lokar is making. Looks sweet and very easy install. I initally tried to use a pedal from a 1970 mustang and then make an attachment on the top to attach the cable to. It would have worked but looked crappy so I scrapped it and made the phone call to Summit for the new pedal. Well worth the money IMO.

I went the cheap/crappy route and modified the 1970 pedal setup. The mod is to add about a 1" extension to the top of the pedal rod, and drill a hole that the plastic retainer will fit.

I see the pedal, did you use the lokar 24 in long cable also? Any other hardware required that I may be missing, thanks for the info.

I don't remember the part number but all I did was call Lokar and they told me all the parts I needed and then I ordered it via internet. Call 877-469-7440 they are very helpful.

Thanks for the help, hopefully I'll get everything figured out and all the parts staged before I get back to the states.

I forgot to tell you the cable you need is the same as the 87-93 EFI Mustang. I don't think they sell in as a cable and pedal kit you will have to buy it individually. I also put on the matching brake, clutch and washer fluid cover. It looks great! I would send you a picture but I took it apart to send off to paint.

Hopefully the aluminum will look better than the junkyard special set of pedal assembly I have from a fox body.
