Default 9" rear axle

I have a 1965 fastback mustang and I was wondering if some of you could direct me to a website that sells new or rebuilt 9" rear axles.

I'm not familiar with the pre 71 Mustangs, but you can find a 71-73 9" easily, but it would need to be narrowed to fit into an earlier car.

there is some good info in the FAQ about that 9" rears. It will tell you what cars you can get a factory 9" from and make it work. I believe the late 50's full size fords will work.

how much are you looking to spend? I have a 9 inch versailles with a rebuilt center and trac loc and 3.70 gears. I might be willing to let it go.

I actually took the advice of going to the junkyard and picked one up out of an old cougar for 300.00 that will fit right up with mine. I did however, check out the websites and they gave me some great ideas. Thanks everyone for your help.

How much to have it re-built and all new brake hardware? I'd prefer to have have new bearings and seals installed and wouldn't use it without all new brake hardware.

Good luck!
