Default Transbrake question

So i bought a rebuilt upgraded C4 from a company on ebay and it has a transbrake. The problem is that i didnt upgrade my shifter. I have the original c4 shifter in it. The question i have is what would you do about the transbrake. I need to install a switch somewhere to run it so i was just wondering where you guys would mount that. one the dash? is there anyway that i could mount that somewhere near the shifter. If you have done something creative let me know

Thanks
Eric

Default RE: Transbrake question

Is it forward or reverse pattern? Also most transbrakes are a full manual valve body and some dont have engine braking available.. its a full race piece, not so much a street piece. The shifter needs depend on the type of valve body pattern it has

You need a switch to operate the brake. You dont want to use it while sitting at a stoplight, but you will be able to find the ultimate stall speed of your converter..

Default RE: Transbrake question

My AOD has had a trans-brake since 1990, Full automatic with manual select. My wife can put it in D and go for a cruse, as for me I likebanging through the gears. I would recommend a switch and a button. Mine are mounted to the shifter box, I arm the trans-brake and hit the button at the light, then hammer the gas, light goes green and let go of the button, reach for the gear and shift. The thing to be careful is not to hit the brake after you start moving.....boom.
