May have to sell the Stang
Long story short, my parents are moving before the end of the year and I need to find a place because I can't (and won't) go with them. If I can't at the very least afford a truck and trailer to put the Stang on, I'm gonna lose it.
I'd prolly be better off selling it to someone who has the time and experiance to fix it anyway. I don't have the time, money or experiance (at least notbodywork-wise) to do enough in such a short time. I've pretty much got to the end of the summer to get my business rolling or geta new job (working on both as we speak, BTW
).
Here's the run down on the Stang:
First, it's got a 200ci I6 matched to a C4. The head has been removed because there was a crack in the exhaust mani and when I went to remove it, I snapped all but two of the bolt heads off. The need to be drilled and tapped so it can go back on (plus a nice little cleaning of the head would also be good). The trans cooler lines had a pin hole leak in them, so replacement is pretty much needed. I patched the hold as soon as I found it with J B Weld (good stuff!!) and it has held up as of the last start up.
Front clip was removed. Grill, bumper and front valances. One of the bumper re-inforcements is bent and another (the one that goes from the frame to the outer part of the bumper) is broken off at the bracket. The front P/S fender needs to be replaced. The D/S was replaced, but now has a dent in it from when the old rad leaked out all of the coolant and it stalled on my in the middle of the highway (I have anger management issues) D/S rear qtr needs to be r&r'd. There was a skin replacement that was put on poorly and than covered with about 3/4 to one inch of bondo. The P/S fender has some bondo from when the PO's friend backed his station wagon into it and dented the fender flair. It needs at the least to be sanded down, although my plan was to replace it anyway.
I also have a 302 with a (supposed .030 overbore) only thing missing is one of the main bolts and one of the mounts would need to be welded in as one of the two bolt locations was broken off before I get it. As far as the wiring, there are NO turn signals and NO back up lights. They are on the car, just do not work. The gear selector wobbles from side to side a bit as well. No radio. Windshield wiper motor neds to be rewired. Windshield needs to be replaced cause it's cracked and the rear leaks. ORIGINAL seats front and rear. PO's GF Spray painted "HI . . ." on the D/S.
Have to get back to work will continue in a minute.

What is this car worth to you?
If you truly love this car, don't get rid of it, and figure out alternatives. You try to rationalize it, but 5 yrs from now, you're gonna hate yourself.I've sold numerous cars for what ever reason, andkick myself in the backsideeverytime I think about it.
It's not the money, it's the passion. If it's not important, sell it, if you really want to keep it, it can sit for a year or two when your circumstances are better. Two years from now, mustangs are gonna be double what they are now.

I can find a storage place to hold it, but I don't know when my parents plan to leave exactly. Quite frankly, they are dumb asses. They complain about me being in the house cause I'm using the electricity and water and everything else, so I spend most of my time at my GF's house and even sleep over and than I hear *poo*about over how I'm never home.
When I said my parents are moving, they are putting the house up for sale and I'm, for lack of a better term, getting kicked out.
My plan was build my business and save up about 8 to 12K by Sept to get engaged to my GF on her B-day, buy myself a Tacoma (brand new) and get an apartment. Now I have to do it in half the time so I figured my best interests would lie in selling the stang and saving the money for when I move out. It needs quite a bit of work and I know I'm gonna spend some dough fixing it. Yeah, I could get rid of this one and than find another one later down the road, but I'd end up buying one that's pretty much already fixed, just to rip it apart and do what I want to it anyway. I guess I'll just have to put my head down and bust my *** over the next few months, get a storage place and set it in there and get the apartment.
This is such a pain in the *** cause I could have fixed the mortgage payments for my parents (thru the financial business I'm building), made money and gotten them out of their mortgage YEARS sooner than they would be without paying a cent more. Every year their mortgage goes up cause there isn't enough in ESCRO(?). They won't let me come in and do it cause my companies interest rates are a little higher than others.
What matters more, paying off your mortgage 3-8 years sooner without paying a penny more monthlyor paying lower interest rates?
My parents really are dumb.
Well, I'll just have to start looking for a place to store the Stang while I finish my unfinished business.
The car itself means a lot to me. It's a heap, but I've got time invested to it and don't want to give that up for something else, even if it is in better shape. It's my baby. I'll just have to hope for the best.

I'm trying. If I can manage to sell most of the parts and gut it down, I can try to put it into storage and work on it later. I wanna get everything out seeing as I plan to replace everything anyway.
