Wheels to fit Granada discs
ok well i was looking for new wheels for my car and ran across a good deal on some magnum 500's. they are used and the owner says that he thinks they are 14's. so im wondering, would those work. i know the styled steel 14's dont but i have some 14" slotted mag's on my car right now that do. i thought i remember someone mentioning that the 14" magnum 500's will fit because they are made to fit disc brakes.
thanks

Mine are 14" Magnums with the granada conversion. Had to put a very small spacer behind the wheel though. The calperps barley rubbed. Probably could have ground just a hair off of them and they would have worked without the spacers though.
I am runnning styled steel 14's on my 66 coupe and wanted to know...
Is there ANY disc conversion that will work with what I have, or do I need to look at new wheels if I want disc brakes???
Thanks

Dennis says my 14" Mag 500's MIGHT work with his swap, but won't guarantee it. I am going to take a wheel to him and see if it will. He does say that a 15" wheel will work though. So, if you are considering the disk swap and want new wheels, go with nothing less than a 15" wheel. I fully expect to have to use a thin spacer.
ya i couldnt remember if i read that or not. im pretty sure i read somehwere that you could grind a little off the top of the caliper to make it fit. i already did the conversion and i found someone who would sell me some used magnum 500's for relatively cheap compared to new wheels plus it includes tires too. i might just get them and if they dont fit ill just sell them to someone else.
Are the Granada discs larger in diameter/the calipers that much bigger, or a combination of both over the stock disc brakes that came on our cars? The reason I ask is my '65 Fastback came with factory disc brakes, and the stock 14" rims fit without issue.
