Default Windshield installation

I'm about ready to re-install my front and rear glass. I have new weatherstrip on the glass with 3M gasket sealer. My question is, do I apply the gasket sealer into the weatherstrip before or after the glass is installed? I'm worried that if I apply the gasket material before, with the cord for pulling the weatherstrip into place, the black crap will get on my new headliner. Yes-No?

Default RE: Windshield installation

Howdy. I just went through that myself. 95% of the literature I found, recommended putting the windshield and weatherstrip in "dry". Then, using a tube of silicone, peel back the edges from the inside, and run a small bead of RTV underneath. This is the way I did it, and I pleasantly surprised at how easy the whole process was. I installed a new headliner at the same time too. It would probably be a good idea to install new trim clips too.
