Default some tips would be perfect

howdy fellas, i finally got the insurance company to settle with me on repairing my stang instead of toatling it out. they have paid their amount and now i have begun to repair and fix my mustang. even though my hood blowing up while driving sucks, i feel this is a blessing.. yesterday i got the crome off and and have circled all the spots in the paint and i came across 1 section of cancer.. right in front of the radiator on the passenger side. now im ready to start sanding and i have to think of a black to put on the car. the current color (which appears not to be very professional) is stage 1 flat black. i was thinking a gloss black or somthing i know there are tons of different variations of the color black any one have a suggestion on this.. also what to do about this cancer that i found in the front. i posted pictures in the photo gallery if any one wants to look. any tips or suggestions would be very helpful.. im starting tomarrow on cutting out the old fender aprons and replacing those so my new hinges can have somthing to be attached too. any help would be great thanks again

Tracy.

Krylon semi-gloss looks good in the engine compartment.

the rust as long as theres no rust holes just surface sand it tell its bare metal then sealer primer and paint if your asking about a body color theres alot of diffferent blacks out there go look at a paint color book pick the one you like. for like the engine bay trunk or anywhere not seen alot any spray can for metal will do fine. the spots you circled are they rock chips scrtachs or just flaws in the paint.

Thanks for the pointer Soaring.

I agree with Soaring that if the metal is not too bad, and perforated would be too bad, and you can sand down to clean metal, just sand it out a finish it from there.

For your paint choice I would suggest you take any samples outside in the sun to get a real measure of what it will look like. When looking at paint smples inside you can have the lights affect the color and by going outside you will get a better idea of what it actually will look like.

cool thanks for the ideas i m goin to go check out some paint and the circles are both paint flaws and chips. the trunk area had a spot where the pant was cracking out.. im goin to spend most of this weekend getting the rest of the body lines. from what i understand that the previous owner was a teenage girl who drove the car to school and such so i believe she backed into somthing because there were a few letters missing off the back "mustang" were missing and the trunk does not sit level. and one the left drivers do i noticed that i had some speckles of blue but i dont think i circled them. most of the circles are areas of missing paint. is there any particular type/brand i should go with and are there any to stay away from? once again i think you all for you advice.
