Default Battery kill switch/disconnect

I've been looking for a remote battery kill switch. I don't want to really spend like 30-60 bucks. (the $30 ones look like crap, and the $60 ones are too expensive). How hard is it to just build one of these? Anyone done anything like this?

Never done one,,I just put a switch in the left upper kick panel for the NEG wire to the coil and throw it before I get out to make sure it slows up the thiefs

do you just want one for a anti theft or dragracing i have a flaming rivers one mounted in my tail light pannel was 93 bucks from summit. if you make one make sure the switch and wires will handle the power. my best trick at anti theft is if you have a electric fuel pump wire it to a oem switch on the dash they wont ever find it

Well that seems a lot easier Yea, I just want it for anti-theft.

So, I'm guessing: You ran a 12V wire to a fuse, then that to a rocker switch. Then that to the ignition? Seems too easy

Or you could wire the 12v plus to your tank and when you get out, throw a switch so that it bridges it to a ground so if the wrong person gets in and doesnt hit the switch before they turn the key over sending current through the wire to the tank ---KABOOM !

kool safety device that person will never steal another car again

lol, yea, that sounds like a reasonable solution. Prevent theft, lose car
