Default things are coming along ...

Hi all,

I'm still waiting for an appointment for getting the rear end fixed. at the moment it looks like start of April.
That gave me a loty of time to do other things. (i hate the fact I don't have a garage).

I
- cleaned the belts
- the interior
- put in a new dashpad
- new instument bezel and lens
- polished the **** out of the her
- cleaned wheels
- cleaned engine
- repaired the wipers (motor and replaced blades)
- put in new heater plenum and duct kit
- repaired headlights and brake lights
- and so on and so on ....

So I cannot wait to drive her around now ....
Anything else I should do ? Any suggestions ?

after repairing the rear the next bigger project are the brakes (dualMC with power booster, leave drums in)

I noticed that your interior door handles are at the 9 o'clock position. Is this where they were originally?

I ask because when I bought my car a PO had them at about the 2 o'clock position where I would actually pull the handle to open the door.

Thanks

they were a bit lower but it was very uncomfy to pen the door, so I put them a bit higher (from 7 to 9 o' clock).
It's nice like that as you can use them as well to pull the door closed.
Actually did that just today. I have not the foggiest idea what position they're in originally. But I'll find out

theyre supposed to be at about 2 o'clock. it looks like your steering wheel is cracked too, might want to look into getting a new one. looks really good though, a lot betterthan mine for sure. keep up the good work.

Now you guys have me wondering about the door handle. Mine is pointing to about 2:00 O'clock. I have no idea if this is right or not, but it works very well.

thanks ! it's great to hear compliments from people who drive the same car :-)

I just checked on ebay and about 90% of the cars have it in 2o'clock position. exactly like Soaring pictured it.
So out with me again and change it ...
thanks for the tip.

The steering wheel is only cracked at the plastic around the metal. There are very shiny steering wheels on offer at calmustang.com (99USD).
But somehow I like the idea of having a steering wheel that looks 40 years old. .... I'll think about it
