Hard fuel line replacement
Has anyone replaced the hard fuel line on a 65. Mine was rusted beyond use and I removed it. I have started bending my own line, but it is really a pain. I will more then likely use some fittings if it continues to be a pain, but I don't like that idea becuase of leaks.
What is entailed to replace the entire hard fuel line from tank to pump. Do I have to remove the suspension or exhaust.
Thanks!

The exhaust is in terrible shape. I will need to replace the brake lines also. I'm thinkingI might just remove the exhaust. If I remove it at the manifolds its a great excuse to buy some new headers.
I guess its time to go buy a hack saw.

Just did mine - bought the regular steel line. Should last another 40 years. I had to disconnect the rear parking brake to get the line in place. Easier to do with two people - one to feed it from the front while you are underneath helping it along the way.
It would be easier if your exhaust and brake lines are out of the way but you can do it with them in place too. Best thing would be to remove the old fuel line by pulling it out the front and seeing how it goes out then quickly install the new line so that the route is fresh in your mind.

Yea, I got the stainless from Laurel Mountain and it takes some adjustment to get it right. You have to remember, when you buy things that are not stock, don't plan on them fitting perfect. I replaced both brake and fuel. Of course I do not have my rear axle, driveshaft, or exhaust on my vehicle.
