Welding primer?
I know when you normally weld you clean the surfaces to bare metal, weld, and then can paint them but how does "weld-through zinc" primer work? Can you prime the metal and literally weld through the primer, insuring everything is all primed and nice?
They make two types of weld thru rattle can and brush on. I prefer the brush onit isnot as messy. When you go to do your welding scratch in the plug weld area or where you are going to solid weld with a pick or something. You want to remove the the coating from that area. If you weld right to the zinc it will not be as strong of a weld. Also make sure any galvanized coating is removed if not you will not get a clean weld. Hope this helps......

so aslong as the metal is clean of junk but is fully primed with this stuff, it will weld just like normal? The stuff I got even has a Mustang on it

In the paint line I use at work it is called vari-prime for bare metal. Most of your primers today are not a direct to metal application so you need to spray a light coat of vari-prime first at least in the dupont line. Most epoxy primers are direct to metal application. Weld thru is a different primer alltogether. You should remove any primer overspray from the weld thru before applying another primer.
