The couple that I've worked with, I put in a electric solenoid that opens on start up and closes when you shut the car off. If you look at the linkfrom Norm, they show a manual valve that you open and closebuy hand. I guess it would work with on-off-on throttle but if your cruising and you loose oil pressure, it won't help....

thanks all
LCC i had a look at that one as well
its supposed to be dual purpose - the start up as you describe and then countering the drop in oil pressure caused by cornering, accelerating (drag application) or braking G forces. the tap opens on start up and then stays open while the car is running and responds to changes in pressure below a certain level like 50psi (have to double check the cut in point).

On our local track, turn's 1 and 2 are notorious for blowing up engines. Turn 1 is awesome fun tho!!!
I've had idiot lights that come on when pressure drops below 20 psi but, according to the engine builder, even if you shut down immediately it is too late by time the revs drop. I'm pretty convincedthe accumulatorshould counter this.

dont forget a good oil filter ones like the fram can kill a engine. or get you a oil pump primer youll have to pull out thee dizzy but it turns the oil pump shaft with a drill so you can pump the oil with out starting it.
