Default C4 tranny ?'s

I dont know much about the tranny to start with only what i've been told, so i dont know if its really gonna do anygood to ask, but how much power can a c4 with a shift kit, and a 3000-3500 stal converter, and its been "beefed up", handle?

The stall doesn't have too much to do with how much power it can handle. The "beefed up" you are refereing to isn't very specific. There are always heavier bands, shift kits etc. I do know of guys who would replace the planetary cluster and put them behind big blocks. Basically anything is possible depending on how much you want to spend. Unless you are extremely concerned with weight and you are worried about druability you could always step upto a C6 for what is probably a much lower cost.

They aren't as hard to comeby as you think. They were used in almost every full size car and small truck in the 60's and 70's

I've always heard that the C4 is very capable of handling high power, as is the C6 of course. The AOD however is fairly fragile unless a fair amount of work is done.

The C4 is supposed to be capable of handling abuse, without spending two arms and a leg. As to exactly what to do, I'm not in the know. A shift kit, and sound bands and clutches at the very least. If you're really going to be serious about going fast, you should have a legitimate tranny shop advise you.
