Yeah, I guess we are going to have to predicate and end our posts with 5 or 6 smiley faces so that feelings don't get hurt. We wouldn't want to injure anybody's ego, or lower their self-esteem.

im a fan of restomodding to an extent. i have nothing against efi, but a mustang without a carb, it just doesnt feel the same, the growl and feeling of raw power, it just isnt the same with EFI

now for wheels, put what you want on them, i dont think the car looks too great with 18and up

17's are pushing it, and 16's are great, i have 15" cragar SS chrome rims
[sm=imsmilin.gif].....Now why would I get upset about his post? He has his opinion and I respect that...Bad taste but I still respect him...........Now I think thats how this should be on this forum, I'm more than happy that he's told us that he doesn't like 17" rims on mustangs, why should I get upset? He didn't say that I'm stupid for putting them on and that I stink.....well I might stink...anyways, It's cool by me and I'm all for everyone to say what they feel.....I'm getting all misty, and atomsk680 I don't think you have bad taste.....I hope we don't have to start telling people we're joking...
I don't know what official "label" should actually be affixed to your car, so I will make up my own,,, I will call it "a damn nice car" another one that I would be proud to drive and own, without changing a thing.Anyone on this forum who says otherwise is a liar, (or they have mental issues)because your car does look that good.

I'd settle for a little tact and class. I don't think that is too much to ask.

Yes, LCC's car is a looker, isn't it. I don't know of any finished Mustangs on here that don't look just great. Man, some of you guys have MCA show quality stuff. I like to see original cars with upgraded safety parts and power enhancing add-on's, and that is what most of you guys have. But, when it comes to using 04 Cobra engines in a 65, then I have to shake my head and walk away. There just is no reason for that when you can get that kind of power out of a carbureted engine, and for less money.

Yep, you also have a great looking car, same for this car, I would love to own it just as it is.

Hypotheticly of course, Ifyou saw a very nice65 withan04 cobra engine in it,would you really discount all of the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears that went into building this car? Since cars were created, it has always been a hot rodders design to modify their vehicles. Some like more modification than others.

Is itright to discount the work that someone has done on their vehiclesimply because they have done somthing that you are not comfortable with, or don't agree with?

I admit that at this point in my life I prefer pushrod engines with carburators, but, there comes a time when we shouldaccept a nice car asa nicecar, especially when someone has poured their dreams into it, do do otherwise is just rude IMO.

We each have our own ideas about what a classic Stang should be, and we should to an extent allow others to express their ideas withouta blanket of condemnation beingplaced upon them. (is it a good idea to be a pushrod biggot? )

+1 i may not like what someone does to a car but if the workmanship is good i will give them all the credit and more they deserve for that...

I like to think of my car as a "retromod" meaning it has been modified the way someone in 1969 could have actually modified the car, stewart warner gauges set in a sheet metal gauge panel, 427 fe swap with holman moody engine parts, beefed up toploader and rear end, except for the open tracker suspension parts but very similar parts would have been available thru kar kraft or over the counter ford racing parts manufacuteres back then and koni shocks are period correct also

Yes I would. I would shake my head in disgust and walk away. I don't care how much time and energy and money was poured into that car, I would not think it is a work of art, but something not original and not worth my time in admiring. Like I said before, it's his car, so let him drive it, but don't try to convince me that it's OK to put an 04 Mustang engine in a 42 year old Classic. It's not OK with me, and any convincing evidence will not sway my opinion.

I think that is totally cool! I want to see it, you posted some in progress photo's today didn't you? I will look at them when I get home, The internet at my work is too slow to view pictures on, it takes the fun out of it, but I have good service at home, will look at them later!

Ok, don't get mad at me, but if you don't mind I want to pose another hypothetical question, this is not a question that I believe will sway your opinion, but I am interested in the answer.

What would you think of a resto-rodder who looked at your car, and did the same thing as you say you would do ifyou looked at his car, I mean he walked away in disgust, because he thinks that pouring so much time and energy into a bone stockoriginal vehicle simply displays a total lack of imagination, and is not worth admiring?

would either of your points of view be more valid than the others?

Hell, I am no big fan of restomod, but my car is not stock. The wheels and especially the engineare far from stock, however I do like the thought of replacing my gauges with some new style whiteface gauges. Does that make it a restomod? I think there are degrees of change that I like or don't, but if it is well done, then I am going to whistle and tell the owner how good the car looks. Most of youguys have awesome cars, mine is asometimes daily driver that is a work in progress. I think maybe some bigger wheels(16's maybe) would look fine. I will keep the original 3 speed and 9" rear end though. What I like best about all ofthis is that a lot of you have so much knowledge and so many great ideas that I love reading the messages and taking something away each time.

Whether you like em virgin or like tomod them, thanks for sharing!
