Default Restoration

Hi, In new to the forum. I'm 16 andmy dad and I arebegging the restoration of my '65 fastback. Theres alot of work yet to be done but I wondered if any of you had any advice for a restoration or any tips. Oh yeah and if any of have a list of all the stock colors for that year I would appreciate it.I was surprised to see the real color under the trunk lid its a very bright blue and I always thought it was dark blue. It used to be my moms back in the day and Ive alwaysd wanted to bring it back to life.

In this forum at the top in the sticky threads is a FAQ section that will answer alot of questions including the color code one. I am not sure if this book is referenced there but I have heard it is decent.http://www.themotorbookstore.com/mus...storation.html

Welcome to the world of Mustangs! Pictures???????

I'll get pics eventually, just imagine a dark blue fastback with no tires and rust spots on the bottom

Thumbnail this page in your documents. You will reference it a lot as you restore your 65. Also reference the FAQ and of course ask lots of questions. Welcome to the site.

Welcome to the forums. Can you give us some specs on your project (engine, tranny, etc.)? Good luck!

I suggest you buy a couple of restoration books. Try 'How to Restore Your Mustang' by Larry Dobbs for a start. And subscribe to Mustang Monthly. Thne collect some mail order catalogs, National Parts Depot, Virginia Classic Mustang, Texas Mustang Parts to name a few. Get into the habit of taking pictures. It will take a while so don't give up. In the end, you can say proudly 'I did that'.
