Default Shroud Gap Question

I have a shroud on my 65 mustang. From reading the FAQ's and related posts and articles I've learned that the fan should be half inside the shroud. When I look at my shroud, the fan is halway in, but there is such a large gap between the radiator and the shroud. Should i consider replacing the shroud with a better one that wouldn't have sucha large gap? Or is this a radiator issue?

You are probably good to go. These aftermarket shrouds are not like the ones you see on modern cars. Look at mine and see if yours looks something like mine. If it does, then you are good to go.

Yeah that looks about the same as mine. Thanks for the response Soaring. Do they Make shrouds that would butt right up against the rad without those gaps at all?

Just buy a Flex-A-Lite stainless 10,000 rpm fan and forget about the shroud.

Mine works just super, so no need to get it butted up next to the rad without a gap. However, we had a member a few years ago who used I think fiberglassoaked sheets to fill in the space. If your car is still overheating with that shroud on it, then it is not the shroud because mine runs cool as a cucumber. However, I have a 4 row rad, a 6 blade fan and an overflow tank. If you are still overheating look elsewhere besides your shroud.
