Default help idler arm and headers

Trying to install my hooker long tube headers on the 67' 289. The passenger side headers bolt up nicely. the drivers side tubes are interfering with the idler arm. What can I do? Bend the headers?

Many moons ago I installed headers on my 67, when I wanted to go fast, and they came with a bracket to relocate the, uhhh, whatever arm. Isn't the idler on the passenger side? Maybe it's the end of the hydraulic P/S cylinder. At work now, goofing off, so I can't go look at my car. Anyway, the bracket lowered the whatever 3 inches or so.

Yeah, there's a bracket you can get at any of the Mustang places now. It lowers the power steering ram if I remember correctly. I'm not running it anymore because I tossed my power steering and it's been too long for me to remember exactly how the bracket went. I did notice a difference in the way the steering felt, but it wasn't bad. If you look up power steering at any of the Mustang places, you'll probably find the bracket. It was pretty cheap. I think Mustangs Plus was one of the first to come out with it back when I needed it.

Oh, and the idler arm is on the passenger side. The Pitman arm is on the drivers side.

And your headers are interfering? Wow. I've installed two different sets on my car and haven't had a problem with either. I hope someone else knows what to do. I've got almost 2" of clearance between the #8 tube and the Pitman...
