Still cleaning out the basement..
So, today I did some more cleaning house in the basement of the workshop and found some more goodies. I thought most of this crap was going to be just that, crap, but I found some really sweet stuff.
First off, I have to ask what exactly a 351M is. I've heard of these before, and know it means modified, but what exactly is it? Will 351M parts match up to a W block or C block, or do they have a block of their own.
Today I found:
Oilpans..351M, 351C chrome, 289, 351C black, and a awesome score, a brand new 351W deep sump..Canton or some brand
351C cam and another cam labeld 289/302
C HEADS!!
lots of little crap stuff, clutch parts, alternators and starters, time covers...
So, Im curious about these M's so I can take inventory of everything. I probably forgot some stuff above..

Yeah, I always thought it meant modified. But then again, I thought there was some confusion on what it really is, Im unsure. Some knowledgable person will stumble on this...
Afriend of mine told mea while ago,I just can't remember for sure. I'll ask him again and repost tomorrow if there isn't any more info. I'm almost positive it was a city name becauseI always thought it stood for modified until he told me differently.
Ok,I googled it! A 351M is a modified 351C block made in themid '70's for ford light duty p/u trucks. It was a member of the Cleveland engine 335 series. The "M" does stand for either modified or Michigan .
