1966 coupe wheel choice?
I have a 1966 coupe and about a year ago bought the orginal styled wheels. I have noticed i dont like the way they look because they are to skinny and i need more muscle. Saying that, A guy has a pair of wheels that are 17" 9", would those fit are to big? If not whats the biggest ( I dont wont to go any bigger than 17"). Also My mustang is Navy Blue with a shelby paint job, do you thing the wheels with the black in the center and chrome on the outer rim would look sharp? I also plain on getting the windows tented to go with the black wheels.

17" is fine, but 9" wide may be a bit much. It's going to come down to how wide the tires are, butthe typical tire that goes on a 9" rim will likelybe too wide.
BS = back spacing. That measurement is critical in making sure everything fits right.
As far as "would this look sharp?" - it really comes down to what look you're going for and what YOU like. But if you really want our oppinions then it'd help if you posted a picture of your car and a pic of the wheels your considering.

17x9" won't fit on 65/66 mustangs. I have 17x8" wheels on my 66 coupe. The backspacing is 4.5". Sounds like your car is almost like mine. Check the sig.

19stang66,
I have a 66 coupe and have 15x8 cragar rims with 4.25 BS. I have 255/60R15's on now that are getting cut buy the wheel lip. Without rolling the fender lips what size tire do you think would fit with any chance of running or cutting?? Regular stock rear suspension with 9" rear and disc's in the back.
Thanks

Restomod66, I really wish I could help you out on this one. I really don't know much about the smaller sized wheels. I've only dealt with 17". My suggestion to you would be to PM or email dodgestang. He is the one who has the fancy website with the wheel and tire charts. I don't know how active he is on this site, but I know of another mustang site he is active on. PM me and I'll send you the site (or else I'll get yelled at by Glen).
