They look great in a lot of the imports, but the ones I saw in a mustang did not look good. They did not fit very well, and the gauges have to be extremely thin. The shop said if I could find thin gauges it might fit better.

Back in the good old days, a friend of mine bought a 64 Thunderbold. We did a bit of night - uh - stuff, kicking Chevs, smashing Dogies, the good stuff. He had a tach on the dash. I made a wise crack question once - 'how come you don't have a light in your tach to tell you when to shift?'. He replied - 'I use the lights from the car behind me'. The truth is - you 'feel' the car, the 'sounds' of the engine, you know when to shift, you don't have time to look and a light coming on to indicate - shift - is usually too late. When the oil pressure drops, it's too late. And the temperature - yeah, right. It's more looks than function. It may help you get the 'feel' and the 'sound' of your ride, but know your car.

I know my car, but i like the looks of guages. Also, i still like keeping an eye on oil and temp guages. They really do help.

Those look a lot deeper (and nicer) than the ones I originally seen.

He's already got water, oil, fuel, volts, tach and speed... I wonder what's in those two pillar gages that he would need....boost & vacuum?
