Install Electric Fan
Hey Guys, First, I know this may sound like a stupid question, but how exactly do I set up the electrical for installing an extra fan on the rad?
I bought a 12 inch fan to fit on the rad, and that is an easy install.
But now I have the diagram which is easy to follow but I'm just not sure exactly how to set it up. It shows to hook up one wire to ground (I', assuming any bolt on the car???) and the other to a switch, which I bought, then coming out of the switch to a 25 amp fuse. Is this fuse just something I can buy and comect the wire to, or does it go to a fuse in the fuse box? Then it shows it going from the other side of the fuse right to the positive terminal on the battery. Do I actually connect it to the battery?or to another power source?
Sorry about the stupid question, but I'm not the best in electrical.

I hate electrical too, but the Army decided to train me in communications, so I was forced to learn. That fuse is an in-line fuse you can pick up at any auto parts store. You can either go to the battery positive poll, or you can run a wire to the switchable side of your ignition switch. If you need more help or don't understand, then let us know. I think I would follow the directions and hook it directly to the batter to test it before I tore into my instrument gauge panel to get to the ignition switch.

Andy,
The schematic shown here shows the most appropriate way to hook up an electric fan. If yours didn't come with a relay, then you should purchase one and install it as shown here. The relay picks up power off the 12V power source...typically people use the positive post off the starter solenoid.
I have installed an electric fan in my car just like you are doing right now. I'd be more than happy to help you... PM me so I can answer your questions without having to deal with unnecessary snipes on everything I say.
