Default molding hood scoops??

Hey everyone, I bought a hood scoop from mustangplus.com and you have to mold it on. I have a 68 coupe and i need to know how to do it. Any advice?

Most will say to use fiberglass and resin. It will eventually crack though.

/agreed
Fiberglass + Resin

But you'd be alot better off getting a new hood. The original stays unmolested andin good shape while stored, and you get to show off the new one - without cracks.

Plus I'm lazy. For me aligning a new hood is 100x easier than molding of any kind.

Return it and buy the entire hood.I got talked into it by someone who supposedly knew what he was doing .Worst idea ever.It catches air and cracks around edges, even with the hood cut out for it.If you do this youll regret it i swear.

dont mean to steal the thread or nething but what if you just bolt it on without moling it. Will it look really bad?

If its a specific mold on style then yes it will look terrible the edges arent made even, so youd have to clean them up.

I have a bolt on hood scoop that I got out of my grandpa's barn. It is stamped with a C9 on it so i assume it came originally with a 69. I was just going to bolt it on because there are already holes in my hood from the previous owner and I figured If i have it anyway then might as well. Were there any stock hood scoops in 69 that came bolt on that werent molded?

It wasnt uncommon. If it is designed to be bolted on then they look good.
