Default 1969 Fastback Interior Panels???? Need Help

I have a 69 sportsroof and I am having a lot of trouble trying to replace the interior panels behind the side windows. I don't know how to attach the cardboard panels to the metal framework. I have tried velcro, glue and double sided tape. All of these remedies work for a little bit but after a while of cruising with the windows down, the panels peel off. Has anyone had this trouble before or does anyone have any suggestions???? Thanks for the help!

Try 3M 08008, blackWeatherstrip adhesive. It a type of contact cement.Apply it to both surfaces and spread it around. Let it dryfor 20 or so minutes, then put some more on one surface and attach. If the cardboard is not water damaged and prone to falling apart, it will hold.

If you are talking about the Sail Panels (the ones that are behind the quarter window and have the opera interior lights in it. Push the panel back as far as u can against the metal framework, twist the opera light and it will hook behind a peice of the framework, Its the only way i was able to get mine to stay.

Yes, those are the panels that I'm refering to. So the only thing that holds the panel on is the light? Do the panels flop around in the wind? It seems like that would be a lot of pressure and tension on the light??

It looks like a door panel type clip is used at the top of the panel and the windlace at the pinch weld at the window is supposed to keep it in place.
