Might need engine rebuilt
While driving on a highway, my engine suddenly quit and a large puff of white smoke came out of the tailpipe. The smoke was just a single large puff out of the tailpipe. No smoke around or near the engine. Oil level was full and the oil was not cloudy or milky-colored. The car wouldn't start again. When the ignition is turned, nothing happens and there is no sound.
When I removed the valve covers, I noticed that one of the valves seemed to be bent/crooked in relation to the others. (see picture below)
Two questions:
1. Anyone know what my problem might be based on how the engine quit and these pictures?
2. Anyone know of someone in or near Washington, DC who rebuilds or does major repair work to old engines?
Thanks!
