Default Rear Window Removal?

I am wanting to remove my rear window for painting my car and I went out to try to get it out today. There is a seal as shown below that seems to be the only thing holding the window into place. I tried to get the window out but I was unsuccessful. Is there some kind of tool to get the window out or is it just of matter of multiple people and a lot of work to get it out? Is there any secret to it? Any suggestions from people doing it in the past?

I just did this Saturday, take a razor knife and cut the seal (from the outside) right along the window .When you get it cut away the winddow will come right out.Just in case the PO put glue in the seal it might be a good idea to run the knife under the edge of the window to break it loose from the seal/glue.Just be very careful lifting the window out they are expensive
I dont know what possesed the PO of my car to do it but once he had the seal in he went crazy with sealant around the outside of the seal.I would like to stuff the remains of the glue somewhere on or in his body

PS I forgot to mention ,yes there is a tool to take the molding off the window.I would suggest getting one otherwise you will probably bend the trim up getting it off http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT

My dad took something with a sharp edges and ran it around the window. Then I went on the inside of the car and gently bumped it all around and then applied firm pressure against the top with him ready to catch/holding it from the outside. Once it popped out I helped get one side to remove it.

Is there any way that I can save the seal or do I have to cut the seal. The PO repaced the seal but didnt fix the rust around the window (what a retard) So I want to remove the window fix the rust. Paint it to protect it. Then put it back together. If I could save a couple bux by saving the seal it would be great.

Hmm save a $25 seal and take a chance on busting a $250 to $280 window???? Guess which one I would pick!!!

i dont think you would even want to save the seal as its probably original making it crusty and cracking and leaky.....get a new one id say......
