Need 2 Ford Mustang 1964 - 1969
You can buy good relativly rust free I-6 coupes all day long for around 5K (and less). Of course I think you would want V-8s, but a V-8 conversion is really not hard, but it could be expensive in Europe.
Bygoing this route, you could at least get the cars for a good price, get them home, and deal with the rest later.
The conversion process can be expensive, but it is my opinion that it is no more expensive (less expensive?) than the restoration of a rust bucket, the work is easier, and the finished car is better.
I think that in Austria, no one will really care if the VIN calls for an I-6instead of aV-8.
My suggestion will not be be popular with everyone on this forum, but nonetheless I think you should consider this option.

When it comes to engines in these 'non-collectibles', perception is reality to me!

That´s too much form me. What the hell is a VIN ?
Why i like to buy a car in the USA now is the excange "saving" of nearly 40 % (1 $ - 0,65 €)
What are the things i have to watch, buying a mustang Coupe 1968 ? Body, Interieur etc.
And I know what i´m doing. I know that my "project" is not easy but hey nothing is easy today.
Thank´s for help, i have learnd a lot in this forum.

like everyone has said. its going to be really hard to find a mustang for 1k-5k in driveable condition to get back to austria. i know its cheaper in euros but still, i don't even want to know what shipping costs will be. If you looking cheaper look for a inline 6 since they will be a lot cheaper and then switch to v8. i'm gonna be with jmd on this one, (hey a i-6 to v8 conversion that im for!).
when looking at the car the biggest things to look for are car cancer (rust) and to make sure the frame is in good shape. since your going to be shipping it, the body is going to be the most important. make sure their is no bondo, no bends/dents in the body (if possible). when looking for rust check wheel wells and the cowl (the vents in the front of the windshield. good test is to pour water down those vents. unfortuntaly 80% of the time they are rusted out and water will pour into the interior).
like mentioned though, it will be very very VERY hard to get a mustang over here that is driveable and in somewhat good condition over to austria...nevertheless
good luck to you

Thank´s for the Tips
If I understand, you would buy a i-6 and make a V-8 out of it. Do you mean change tha engine ? I think i know what a V-8 is but a i-6 i´m not sure, mby you can explain it. What do i need tochange a I-6 to a V-8
Thanks

Hy
The shipping will cost 1500 $ with all the papers done and taxes paied.
I calculating this way.
Mustang: 5000k
Transport in the US: 500 $
Shiping(tax, papers): 1500k
Transport in Europe: 500 $
Sum: 7500$ = 5800 €
So if i´m lucky i have a mustang for 5800 €.

You can get project cars in the netherlands for around that money check http://www.heideveldzwolle.nl/default-uk.htmand
http://www.stolzeclassiccars.nl/
The will most likely require more work than a US car of the same price
