Default '65 vert windshield header trim

Hello,I'm trying to remove all the trim around the windshield of my '65 convertible. The main piece on the top is very wide. Is there a special tool for this,or the same tool for the rest of the windshield trim? any help will be much appreciated! Thanks, marc

Yep,thats the one. The bottom of it has screws. Thought it would just pull off ,but nope. Must have some serious glue up there lol. I guess I'll just take a putty knife and try to gently remove it.

Ok rag-toppers, there are two studs on each side that hold down those mouldings accessed from the inside. You need to take off the rear view mirror, visors and the inside moulding, held on by four phillips head screws, to get there. The nuts require a 3/8 deepwall hex socket. Access is threw a square hole in the frame. Don't forget. there are two screws holding that outside moulding on as well. Go for it.

When I read about the putty knife prying technique, I cringed. Way back when, I used a similar device and the same basic technique on a piece of aircraft equipment - I destroyed it while trying to takeit apart. It was fun. The education that I received from my father has stayed with me (a leather strap in the shed reinforced it), find out how it was put together before you take it apart.
