What's it worth? 1971 Vert
Hey all!
My father is pretty determined to sell his 1971 Mustang convertible and we're having a hard time finding out how much it's worth. That's because it's in original condition, no modifications were ever done to it. I see just junkers or modified Mach 1's on eBay. Plus it's a base model, 302, 2V, C4auto with just the base interior and 133,000 miles. It has the cool chrome bumpers, without the sillly vertical risers on the rear bumper that came on some models.
He is the original owner and even has the envelope with the owner's plate, manual and some other things from 36 years ago! Plus it's been maintained at the same garage for all this time and he has most service records. Still drives it a few times a week.
There are some flaws, scratches, pits in some of the chrome, tears in the front vinyl seat, but the thing is - it's all the original stuff. Don't mind the steering wheel and seat covers!
Obviously, it's the restored '71 Mach 1's that are getting the high prices right now, but we're wondering what price to expect or at least the minimum price to sell for. I don't know if someone would modify a 71 in such good shape or if they would want to restore a base model, but look it over and let us know what your opinions are.
Thanks all!

and yes, I can't explain the steering wheel cover, but at least it protected the steering wheel!

How is the engine? Are there any oil leaks, does the trans leak?
That may determine the price.
I would suggest looking at car shows in your area, see what they are selling for.
Also you might look on :

www.cars-on-line.com
I would stay away from ebay. A lot of those cars that sell on ebaydon't really sale. You see them on there a few days later for sale again.

Thanks! I forgot to check where it's been parked.
I use the "Completed Auction" search on eBay to see what things sold for... or failed to sale for. You check the little box on the left and rerun the search.
