My bad! I just looked at the video and it seems that there was a twin turbo Cobra. Not a twin turbo Super Snake Mustang, but a twin turbo Super Snake Cobra!

One of a kind! Thanks for the info. Copied it to my favorites!

Ok 6 million! ha

You haven't seen the 500 ESP error message lately, have you? Super Snake can continue with his progress and updates all he wants, and those few of you who are interested in his progress can continue to folllow. The old saying that you can't please everybody all the time is certainly alive and well on this site.

The Super Snake built by Carroll Shelby was a stock 427FE putting out 550-600 hp. No supercharger. Just the stock 427FE. Strong engine built to compete with the 1963-66 nascar/racing events back then. Outlawed because it started winning too many events. HEMI? OMG the 427 would walk all over the Hemi's of the day.

Mine? A 427FE supercharged with a Vortech T trim SC putting out over 800 HP! C'mon twin turbo ricers!
actually 427's , they are actually 424 cubic inches, just named 427 because that was nascars cubic inch max at the time were used in nascar even up to the dawn of the svo 351 small block engine...first it was the low riser motor, which was getting destroyed by chryslers 426 up till the 65 model year when ford introduced the medium riser, in early 67 i believe the 427 cammer was raced for 2 races then banned, that motor was followed by the medium riser/tunnel port 427 motor, this is the motor that won lemans 3 times, won david pearson 3 nascar championships, and dominated nascar even moreso than the boss 429, because of its stroke/bore split, its bore was a good amount bigger than the stroke, and as we all know bigger bore x less stroke =better mid range and top end power...so this engine wound up like a small block and had great throttle response, it could also be run at a 12:1 compression, pretty good for a nascar big block in those days...the hemi would run and dominated onshorttracks and super speedways, but it was low compression 9.5:1 in race trim and really wouldnt wind up through the power band, this is why boss 429's were only used by about half the race teams in 69 and 70 because 1. ford didnt provide enough of the parts and stuff early on, 2. many teams would run the boss only at short tracks, and super speedways and the tunnel port 427's everywhere else...also the 427, was well liked because you could hold you had greater adjustment capabilities in the motor and suspension because it was a lot smaller, lighter motor than the big boss and there for you could run a little more agressive front suspension with it...

I just tried to find the post again, and I couldn't. Could somebody add a post to bring it to the front so I can find it?

I seriously doubt if his thread was the cause of that error. If his post is the cause of the error, would it not be more prudent to delete the worthless threads with LOTS of pictures in the OT forum? There are threads in there well over 200 pages. The Super Snake thread was very informative and I am certain that I am not the only one that would like to look at it for reference purposes.

Please un-delete the thread.
